Evaluation methods
Here are the assessment templates (the fields filled in by whoever assesses each risk) and the company's own methodologies (formulas to score risk), in addition to those the application provides.
1. What is on the screen
Two blocks: “Assessment Templates” and “Custom Methodologies”. The main button is “New template” for those who administer the company; “New methodology” is under “More” (and is the main one if templates cannot be managed). An empty block says so, for example “No own methodologies yet”, with the button “Create the first methodology”.
2. Assessment templates
Each template shows its name and description and tags: “Active” or “Inactive”, “In use: N assessments”, “Default” and its category. “View” opens a preview: “The form as the assessor sees it”
The row action menu has “Edit”, “Clone”, “Deactivate” or “Activate” and “Delete”. A template used by any assessment cannot be deactivated or deleted, and the default one cannot be deleted; the menu gives the reason.
“New template” opens a form with “Name”, “Description”, “Category” and “Template structure (JSON)”, and the boxes “Default template” and “Active”. If the JSON is not valid, it is not saved.
3. Own methodologies
“Custom Methodologies” lists the company's formulas, each with its status, number of factors and how many assessments use it. The ones the application provides (Fine & Kinney, INSST, 5×5 matrix) cannot be edited. The row menu has “Edit”, “Clone” (the way to adapt an existing one without touching it) and “Deactivate”, which is not possible if assessments use it.
“New methodology” opens a five-step wizard: “Basic information”, “Factors”, “Formula” (with “Test Formula” to check the formula), “Risk thresholds” (the score of each risk level) and “Review”. This part requires the Professional plan or higher.
4. Where they are used
When creating an assessment (“New assessment”), in the “Methodology” step you choose “Custom” and then one of the active own methodologies. Templates are managed by company administrators; methodologies by anyone with write permission. Without write permission the create buttons and the row menus do not appear.
