Ergonomic Assessments
Here the postures and loads of a job are assessed with the RULA, OWAS or NIOSH methods to prevent musculoskeletal disorders. The demo has none: the list says “No ergonomic assessments yet”.
1. The figures and the list
At the top: “Total”, “Completed”, “High / very high” (assessments whose result is high or very high risk) and “Overdue” (those past the date of their next assessment).
The list has the columns “Number”, “Job / task”, “Method”, “Score”, “Risk” and “Status”. “Filters” narrows it by method or risk level. Click a row to open the assessment.
2. Doing an assessment
1. Click “New assessment”.
2. Type the “Job title”, choose the “Workstation type” (seated, standing, mixed or manual handling) and describe the task.
3. Choose the “Assessment method”: “RULA” scores upper arm, lower arm, wrist, neck, trunk, legs, muscle use and force; “OWAS”, back, arms, legs and load; “NIOSH”, the distances, heights and frequency of a lift.
4. Mark each value. The final score and its level are calculated as you fill in (for example, “RULA grand score” 1, acceptable).
5. Note the “Workstation modifications” and the “Training needed”, one per line, and click “Save”. It is saved as a draft.
3. Completing it and following the actions
1. Open the saved assessment and click “Complete”. Each modification and each training you noted becomes a follow-up action.
2. On the page, “Tracked actions” says how many were generated and “View in action tracking →” takes you to them.
3. When management or the technician has reviewed it, “Mark reviewed” records it.
4. Permissions
Creating, completing or deleting assessments requires write permission. By default the prevention module is open to editors and administrators; a read-only user sees the notice “This module is switched off”.
