1. What you see when it opens

Under the title there are three quick-filter buttons: “All”, “Requiring authorisation” and “Without a current SDS”.

Then “Nora's Recommendations” flags what is urgent with the regulation that requires it; for example, a CMR substance without a risk assessment (RD 665/1997). Its button (“Assess CMR substances”) takes you to fix it and “Ask Nora” opens the chat with that warning.

“Detailed View” holds “Chemicals in use”, “Active”, “CMR Substances” and “SDS Compliance” (percentage of products with a current SDS), the “Critical Alerts” block and six counters: “SDS Expiring”, “CMR No Assess.”, “Low Stock”, “Expiring Inventory”, “OEL Exceedance” (measurements above the exposure limit) and “No SDS”.

2. The list of products

The columns are “Name”, “CAS Number”, “Manufacturer”, “Status”, whether it is a CMR substance, how many “Safety Data Sheets” it has and its “Inventory”. The status can be “Active”, “Phasing Out” (being substituted), “Restricted”, “Requires Authorization” or “Prohibited”.

“Filters” refines the list and “Export Reports” generates the CMR register, the SDS inventory, the stock inventory or the exposure summary per worker. Click a product to open its page.

3. Registering a product

1. Click “Create Chemical”. The wizard has six steps: “Basic Information”, “Physical Properties”, “Classification”, “Usage & Storage”, “Safety” and “Review”; those marked “Optional” can be skipped.

2. If you have the safety data sheet, press “Upload PDF or photos” or “Take photo” in the first step (the container label works too). Nora reads the sheet and fills in all six steps: the fields she filled are marked in violet, and a notice says what was not on the sheet and whether your company already has a chemical with that CAS. Nothing is saved until you press “Register Chemical”: check it first.

3. Without the sheet, type the “Name” (the AI can propose the other properties from it), the trade name, the CAS, EC and Index numbers, the manufacturer and the supplier.

4. In “Classification” choose the signal word, select the pictograms, type the hazard statements (H), precautionary statements (P) and hazard classes separated by commas, and tick whether it is CMR. “Save Draft” saves without finishing.

4. What to do with a CMR substance

1. Open the product. At the top you see its status, its completion percentage and the “Lifecycle” in five steps: register the product, upload the SDS, assess the risks, define the control measures and control exposure.

2. If it is CMR, the “CMR mandatory checklist” appears: specific risk assessment, register of exposed workers, health surveillance of those exposed, study substitution and control measures.

3. Complete each item from the product's tabs (“Safety”, “Inventory”, “Storage”). Substitution is planned in Substitution Plans and exposed workers are grouped in Exposure Groups.

From the page you can also “Record an inventory count” and print its “QR code”.

5. Permissions

Creating, editing or deleting products requires write permission. The Chemical management module is open by default to editors and administrators; a read-only user sees the notice “This module is switched off”.
