User assignments

«User Assignments» says in which workplace, department or area each user works, with their position, dates and supervisor. As the screen warns, it is organisational information: it does not grant permissions or change the person's access.

1. The list

A freshly seeded demo has none: «No user assignments». Once there are some, the list shows each assignment with the user, the unit (workplace, department or area), the position, the dates and whether it is the primary one. «Filter by user» and «Filters» (active or inactive, primary or secondary) narrow the list.

2. Create an assignment

Click «New Assignment» (or «Create first assignment»). Choose the “User” and, under “Organisational Units”, the “Workplace”, the “Department” and the “Area”. The person and the “Start Date” are required; you can also enter “Job Title”, “Role”, “Assignment Type”, “End Date”, “FTE (%)” (share of working time in that unit) and “Notes”. Tick “Primary assignment” if it is where they usually work. Save with “Create”.

3. Supervisor, My Team and org chart

The assignment's “Supervisor” is the person who will see this user on their “My Team” screen. Assignments are also what the Org Chart counts in each department; dragging a person there changes their assignment.

Creating, editing and deleting assignments needs edit permission.
