Construction projects
In «Construction Projects» you register each construction project and, from its record, manage its coordinators, documents, sites, worker certifications and the Incident Logbook. A project can be in Spain, Ireland or the United Kingdom, and that decides which requirements apply.
1. What is on the screen
At the top, «New Project». The figures are «Total Projects», «Active Projects», «Completed» and «Notifiable» (projects that must be notified to the authority). «Filters» searches by code, name or client and filters by jurisdiction and status.
Without projects you will see “No projects found”. With data, the table shows code, name, client, location, jurisdiction, status and start date; click a row to open the record.
2. Creating a project
Click «New Project». The required fields are “Code”, “Name”, “Client” with email and phone, “Address”, “City”, “Postal Code”, “Region/Province”, “Jurisdiction” and “Start Date”. The rest (status, end date, budget, duration, working days and peak workers) is optional.
When you choose the jurisdiction its requirements appear; for Spain, “Requires Health & Safety Study” and “Has Site Incident Log”. Tick the second if the project keeps a Logbook. Click “Save”.
3. The project record
The record has “Edit”, the status and the jurisdiction, and the tabs “Overview”, “Coordinators”, “Documents”, “Construction sites”, “Certifications” and “Legal record”. “Overview” shows client, main contractor, budget, duration, dates and address, and “Linked documents (general repository)” with “Attach” to link documents from the Documents module.
The project's Incident Logbook opens from the record or from «Incident Logbook» in the menu.
4. Project statuses
The status goes through “Planning”, “Design Phase”, “Pre-Construction”, “Construction”, “Commissioning” and “Completed”; there are also “On Hold” and “Cancelled”. «Active Projects» counts those not completed or cancelled. Change it with “Edit” as the work progresses.
5. Who sees this screen
Construction is a module that, by default, only administrators see; in “Company settings › Modules” it can be opened to editors or to everyone. A viewer with access sees the projects, but create, edit and delete are disabled.
