Environmental metrics
Emissions, Waste, Energy and Water are four registers with the same layout: you enter the data for each period, verify it and analyse it. Their figures feed the Environment dashboard and the progress of the goals.
1. What they have in common
Each screen has a button at the top to record data, cards that count and filter (all include “Not verified”), a search box and the list. Each row shows the name of the record, its number, the date and its verification (“Not verified” or “Verified”); the name opens the record and the row menu offers “Verify”, “Edit” and “Delete”.
Once there are records there are two tabs: “List” and “Analytics”, with the trend and breakdown charts.
2. Emissions
Click “Record emission”. Enter the “Emission Date”, the “Source Category”, the “GHG Scope” (1: own combustion, 2: purchased electricity, 3: rest of the chain), the “Activity Value” with its unit and the “Emission Factor”; the tonnes of CO₂ equivalent are calculated. After the record is created, the scope, category, gas type and unit can no longer be changed.
The cards split the records by “Scope 1”, “Scope 2” and “Scope 3”.
3. Waste
Click “Record waste” and fill in the “Generation Date”, the “Waste Type”, the “Waste code (LER/EWC)” and the “Quantity”. The cards flag what is urgent: “Hazardous over 6 months” (they cannot be stored for more than 6 months, Law 7/2022), “Hazardous without identification document” and “Not recycled”.
While the waste has not been collected, the main button on the record is “Record collection”: date, authorised handler, carrier and identification document, which is mandatory for hazardous waste (RD 553/2020).
4. Energy and water
On both screens the button is “Record consumption”. In Energy, enter the source, the period, the consumption with its unit, the meter, the supplier and whether it is renewable; the cards separate “Renewable” and “Non-renewable”, and “This year” filters the current year.
In Water, enter the source, the water withdrawn, consumed and discharged, the discharge destination and whether it meets the limits; the card “Over the discharge limits” gathers those that do not.
5. Verifying and what the data is used for
“Verify” marks the record as checked; the record allows the verification to be withdrawn. Unverified records are counted on the Environment dashboard. The records of the last 12 months calculate the progress of the sustainability goals.
Recording, editing, verifying and deleting need edit permission; without it you can only view.
