Sustainability goals

“Sustainability Goals” lists the company's environmental and ESG goals: which metric it wants to improve, from what starting value and by what date. Progress is calculated from the emissions, waste, energy and water records.

1. The list

Once there are goals, four cards count and filter: “At risk”, “Overdue” (the target date has passed), “On track” and “Achieved”. Below are the search box and “More filters”, which filters by category. Each row shows the title, number, category, progress, status and target date.

The “Analytics” tab gathers the progress, category and status charts.

2. Creating a goal

Click “New goal”. Enter the “Title”, the “Category”, the “Metric”, the starting “Baseline Value”, the “Target Value” and the “Unit”; tick “Is Reduction” if the goal is to bring the figure down. Add the “Start Date”, the “Target Date” and the “Responsible”.

3. How progress is calculated

The “Progress” tab of the record shows the percentage achieved and the percentage it should have reached by the dates. It is calculated from the metric's records of the last 12 months; if there are no records yet, the “Current Value” entered by hand is used.

4. Closing or reopening a goal

The main button on the record is “Mark as Achieved”, which asks for the value reached and notes; once the goal is achieved, the button becomes “Reopen”. “Edit” and “Delete” are in the “More” menu. Goals at risk or delayed appear on the Environment dashboard. Editing and closing need edit permission.
